MEGU Item Appraisal: Do it yourself!
Okay, I have many MEGU friends. Well, for MEGU five is many, right? Anyway, I've had not only friends, but quite a few MEGUers I haven't talked to come to me to ask my opinion on a trade and whether or not it is fair. So the other day, I thought about it some more, and realized that I really do have a sort of system to those thought processes! So no I'm going to attempt to explain them to the common MEGUer! (Not the crazier ones like me!)Hmm let's start with the simplest and then work our way up to the more complicated items.
Store-bought
Obviously, there are several different kinds of items available in the omnipresent store that always seems to be located across from your home, no matter where you relocate to! There are gold, elixir, and limited items. The hardest part about this, is that some items just aren't worth any real points! But some people see the [limited] part of an item and freak out! (I'll admit, I did trade for a [limited] snowmand and [limited] christmas hat simply because they're adorable.) Of course, items buyable in the store for golds are all exactly what they're worth. Then you have the buyable elixir items, elixirs (as you know) costs money from our world. In the store, you can get 10 elixir for $2.99. Which is our base price, so about 30¢.this..was..so..FRUSTRATING to discover! |
almost XD but totally acceptable |
I would actually do that one, too! |
Anyway, I feel that gold items are gold items and should be equal easily compared to how much they're worth. Like the bed + doll = tram picture there. Did you know that you can sell any item for one-tenth of it's original price? So a rare is worth 300,000 if it was possible to buy them--but you can only sell it for 30,000! On that note, let's move on to rares, shall we?
Rares
These are trickier (of course!) First off, you have to sort these into two categories, Adventure & Walk. Because Adventure Rares actually cost 5 elixir each to get (but it takes no time and it is guaranteed, so it's not a bad deal! whereas Walk Rares take an average of 540 diligent hours (usually a collection of walk-obtained Rares includes ten items) to obtain a collection. It takes 9 eggs to win a Rare at 6 hours each--IF you set an alarm!--so 54 hours in all for each rare! NOW which Rare seems better? More equal-seeming, right? One is for money, and another is for time. I hope I just put a lot of assumptions aside ^-^Back to the point! That's not all, you also have to take into account Active or Inactive collections! I know right?! "Ugh, come ON!" It IS a factor to keep in mind though. Say you have a Rare Sunflower from the last summer collection and someone is offering you...a Heart lamp for it. Go on. Ask me of my opinion. NO TRADE! That's just too uneven for me. An Inactive (no longer available) Rare for a item from a very recent (and popular) collection? Um, no. It breaks my MEGU's sensitve heart to see trades like these happening on her friends' boards! Trust me, MEgret (MEGU regret haha!) sucks Beach balls (no longer available :P)
Nah, I'll tone it down. But everyone knows how much I hate being jipped (reference: SUPERGUY). Have you noticed that now he actually tells people whether items are buyable in the store or not, now? Yeah, I was the one who got screwed, and pissed off enough that I talked to him and now he is almost fair (Have you also seen that screenshot of him demanding an entire collection of items for one?! Excuse me, but eff that!) Ugh okay guys, sorry! This isn't a rant, it's supposed to be an informative article so let me go ahead and conclude.
Good to know I'm not the only person that's had trouble with Superguy. I even had to report him, but obviously Feynman did nothing. Great blog btw!
ReplyDeleteYeah..if you hadn't looked at MFBI's Warngings page, I would if I were you haha I've actually been collecting info on his MEGU habits XD What a jerk...but hey THANKS! I'm glad you like it!
